Your organization should pay less for WiMAX devices.
Hundreds of WiMAX Operators across the world operate small networks with tens of thousands of subscribers. On their own, it can be difficult to secure WiMAX devices at affordable prices. The WiMAX Forum understands this challenge, and in response is working with the operator community on a joint WiMAX device RFP!
This will be a simple RFP, with basic devices that almost every WiMAX operator will be interested in. Customization will be limited; however, the WiMAX operators that have already agreed to participate represent over one million subscribers. Together we will create a volume commitment that device makers will notice.
We plan to finalize the proposal over the next month, and pick winners early next year. If you are interested in participating in this RFP and adding your organization’s volume commitment, please contact me: Jonathan.Singer@wimaxforum.org.
Participation is open only to WiMAX Forum members. Your responses will be held in the strictest confidence and not shared outside of WiMAX Forum permanent staff.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Comment by Jonathan Singer on January 31, 2013 at 3:59pm I apologize everyone - there is a typo in this announcement. We are finalizing the RFP NOW, and it will be completed in early 2013. If you are interested, please get in touch with me soon!
Comment by Michael Wolleben on February 2, 2013 at 2:20pm Thanks Jonathan. I would highly recommend all WiMAX operators to seriously look at this incredible opportunity. The RFP will help drive down costs on CPE equipment for your company. Having taked with hundreds of WiMAX operators over the last decade the number # issue form them has always been the high cost for CPE equipment. Now WiMAX operators have a chance to lower that cost and take advantage of the cost savings. Make it Happen!
