Where was Clearwire at Sprint Developers Conference?

Clearwire participated in only one session - on their LBS capability. But it is is not clear if there are any advantages of Clearwire's LBS capability over the equivalent LBS functionality from Sprint Developers Program? Which one could be more accurate in pinpointng location?

At that CLEAR LBS session, I was told Clearwire announced a "4G API" that replaces the "Common API" they talked about at last year's conference. I requested more information about this…

Sprint can support both LTE and Mobile WiMAX in same geographical area; uncertain about future plans(LTE vs WiMAX 2.0)

At his Oct 27 Sprint Developers Conference keynote, CEO Dan Hesse was asked about Sprint's plans for LTE. He answered that Sprint and Clearwire collectively have enough spectrum to support both from the same cell tower. In other words, the existing or soon to be "4G" (Mobile WiMAX) customers would not be abandoned.

WiMAX in Hawaii

Last week I was invited to Hawaii by the General Manager with Clearwire to see a preview of the upcoming WiMAX launch. The new brand for Clearwire in WiMAX will be called Clear(TM). This was a very exciting experience because up until then I had never seen WiMAX in action. Clearwire Confirmed to Roll Out WiMAX in Atlanta and Las Vegas

Recently in Clearwire’s Q1 earnings call,Clearwire confirmed the next CLEAR WiMAX network cities will be Atlanta and Las Vegas.

Verizon Wireless' accelerated LTE launch puts Clearwire under pressure to roll out Mobile WiMAX in more U.S. cities

Verizon Wireless (VZW) will introduce Long Term Evolution (LTE) service in two "pre-commercial" cities later this year before a broader deployment next year, Chief Technology Officer Dick Lynch said this week.
